Sugar-Free CocoRum Liqueur Essence 20 ml

Coconut and white rum are the taste of a holiday: a sun lounger, warm sand and a drink with a paper umbrella in it. Coconut liqueur is the very heart of a long list of tropical drinks, and it is also one of the easiest liqueurs to enjoy on its own. Sugar-Free CocoRum Liqueur Essence gives you that whole experience, with the sweetness built in.

You simply mix the essence with spirit – there is no sugar to weigh out or dissolve. The finished liqueur is just as sweet and round as a regular coconut liqueur and works in exactly the same drinks. We were early to offer sugar-free liqueur essences, and CocoRum has become a favourite in the series.

Colour & Appearance

Once mixed, the liqueur is water-clear and bright, with a slightly syrupy movement in the glass. It looks cool and clean, and over ice it takes on a frosty, inviting shimmer.

Nose

The nose is unmistakable: freshly grated coconut, coconut cream and a hint of toasted coconut flakes. Behind the sweetness is the light, clean note of white rum with a suggestion of sugar cane and vanilla. Close your eyes and you can almost hear the waves.

Palate

The palate is soft, sweet and creamy even though the liqueur is completely clear. Coconut dominates – first the fresh, milky coconut, then a slightly nuttier, toasted note reminiscent of coconut macaroons. The white rum gives a light, clean warmth with a touch of vanilla, and stops the liqueur from becoming one-dimensionally sweet. The sweetness feels round and full, just as you would expect of a coconut liqueur.

Finish

The finish is medium-long and pleasantly cool. Coconut cream and vanilla stay behind, the warmth of the rum fades softly and the mouth is left clean.

How to Use

The essence is mixed with vodka or neutral spirit – no added sugar is needed, as the sweetness is already in the essence. 20 ml makes 750 ml of finished liqueur that is ready to serve straight away. Instructions are on the label.

Serving Suggestions

• With pineapple juice and plenty of ice – two ingredients, full holiday feeling.
• Blended with pineapple and coconut cream into a Piña Colada.
• With cola and a generous wedge of lime.
• Over ice with a squeeze of fresh lime.
• In hot chocolate, or drizzled over ice cream with toasted coconut.
