A truly ripe peach is a fleeting thing. For a few days it is perfect – fragrant, juicy, so soft it barely survives the journey home – and then the moment has passed. Peach Vodka preserves exactly that moment, in a form that stays just as lovely in December as in July.

It is an elegant, soft-spoken fruit vodka. Where many peach drinks shout loudly with sweet, artificial flavouring, this one whispers: mild, round and floral, with the purity of grain vodka as its backdrop. There is a light, natural fruit sweetness, but the drink is clear and a long way from a liqueur.

Colour & Appearance

The drink turns out colourless and bright, with the lustre of a glass of cold water. The peach’s golden and pink tones are yours to add instead – with a wedge of fruit on the rim of the glass.

Nose

The nose is the first thing to win you over. Ripe yellow peach, warm from the sun, together with the slightly fresher, tarter fruitiness of nectarine. The downy skin gives a dry, almost powdery note, and above it all floats a floral quality reminiscent of peach blossom and a hint of jasmine.

Palate

The palate is soft and generous. Juicy peach flesh fills the mouth, followed by the livelier acidity of nectarine, which adds spring. The skin contributes a discreet grip that frames the fruit, and the floral note returns as a perfumed lightness towards the end. The vodka is clean and smooth and never lets the spirit take over – it is the fruit that does the talking.

Finish

The finish is mild and rather long for such a light drink. Peach, a touch of almond from the stone and a floral sweetness fade slowly and leave the mouth feeling soft.

How to Use

The essence is mixed with vodka or neutral spirit. 20 ml makes 750 ml of finished spirit – ready to pour. Instructions are on the label.

Serving Suggestions

• Lightly chilled in a small glass after dinner, ideally with a fruit dessert.
• With cold iced tea, lemon and plenty of ice – the simplest long drink of the summer.
• A splash at the bottom of the glass, topped with sparkling wine.
• With orange juice and a drop of grenadine for a peach sunrise.
• Shaken with lemon, sugar syrup and fresh thyme into a fragrant sour.
