It is a flavour that feels luxurious and a little ceremonial, one that belongs beside the cheeseboard, among the Christmas sweets and in a small glass after dinner.

PR Fig Vodka captures that fruit and sets it on a clean grain vodka. The result is not a sweet liqueur but a dry, lightly spiced vodka in which the fig speaks in its own voice: dark fruit, jam, honey and a hint of nut. An unusual schnapps that few guests will have tasted before.

Colour & Appearance

The finished vodka is clear and bright in the glass. Its appearance is discreet – it is the aroma and the round, soft flavour that reveal this to be something out of the ordinary.

Nose

The nose is warm and inviting. Ripe, almost overripe figs come first, followed by fig jam and dried fruit. A mild note of honey lies like a blanket over it all, and beneath it you can sense roasted nuts, a little date and a faint spiciness like cinnamon bark. The vodka’s clean grain note keeps the aroma light.

Palate

The palate is soft yet dry. The fig strikes up at once – dark, fleshy fruit with the characteristic, slightly earthy sweetness that sets figs apart from every other fruit. Next comes the concentration of jam and a rounded honey note, without the drink ever turning sweet. In the middle there is a nutty, almost almond-like nuance and a gently spicy warmth. The grain vodka provides backbone and a clean, slightly bready close that makes the whole feel grown-up and balanced.

Finish

The finish is long and warming, with dried figs, honey and roasted nuts. A fine spiciness stays at the very back of the tongue, and the warmth spreads at an unhurried pace.

How to Use

The essence is mixed with vodka or neutral spirit and can be enjoyed straight away. 20 ml makes 750 ml of finished spirit. Instructions are on the label.
