Pineapple & Coconut Fruit Shot Essence puts that feeling into a small glass: a sweet, fresh and generously fruity shot that is as easy to like as it is to make.

Fruit shots are the most easy-going part of any party. They are gentler and rounder than a traditional schnapps, they taste purely of fruit, and they work just as well as a welcome shot as they do in a tall glass with a mixer and ice. This flavour is also a rewarding base for anyone who enjoys mixing summery drinks at home – and for grown-up guests who would rather savour the taste than chase the strength.

Colour & Appearance

The finished drink is glossy and slightly syrupy from the sugar, moving softly in the glass. Straight from the fridge or freezer it thickens and turns silkier still – exactly as a good shot should.

Nose

The nose is instantly sunny. Freshly cut, juicy pineapple arrives first, sweet and a little tart at the same time, followed by creamy coconut that recalls coconut cream and freshly grated coconut. In the background there is a touch of vanilla and something that brings to mind pineapple ice cream on a summer evening.

Palate

The palate opens with ripe pineapple – golden, juicy and unmistakably fruity, with a small tart edge that keeps the sweetness in check. Then the coconut spreads out, soft and creamy, rounding everything into that familiar piña colada flavour. The sweetness is generous but clean, never sticky, and the warmth of the spirit sits discreetly beneath the fruit. Mixed with a fizzy soft drink or juice the flavour opens up further, and the pineapple gets even more room to shine.

Finish

The finish is soft and medium-long. The creaminess of the coconut lingers alongside a fresh note of pineapple, and the mouth feels fruity rather than boozy – which is precisely the point of a fruit shot.

How to Use

The essence is mixed with vodka or neutral spirit plus sugar. 20 ml makes 750 ml of finished fruit shot. Instructions are on the label.

Serving Suggestions

• Ice-cold shot from the freezer – ideally in chilled glasses.
• With pineapple juice and crushed ice for a quick piña colada feel.
• With lemon soda or a fruit fizz in a tall glass with a wedge of lime.
• With a splash of cream or coconut milk, shaken with ice, as a dessert drink.
