Anyone who has picked them sun-warm, straight off the cane, knows nothing else tastes the same: intense, sweet and tart all at once, with a scent that stays on your fingers for hours. FS Raspberry captures that flavour – somewhere between freshly picked berries and grandmother’s raspberry cordial – and turns it into a fruit shot with colour and spirit.

This is a shot that gets noticed. The red colour glows on the tray, and the taste delivers what the look promises: distinct, genuine berry character with a fresh acidity that balances the sugar. It is a natural guest at the midsummer table and the summer seafood party, but works just as well in midwinter when you long for a sip of summer.

Colour & Appearance

The finished drink is bright red, like raspberry cordial or freshly made jelly, and glows when light falls through the glass. The sugar gives a soft, lightly syrupy body. With soda and ice it turns a pale, translucent rosy red.

Nose

The nose is intensely berry-led. Sun-ripened raspberries, raspberry jam and freshly made cordial fill the glass, with the light floral note of violet that belongs to real raspberries. Behind the sweetness is a fresh, tart nuance – rather like crushing a berry between your fingers.

Palate

The palate begins sweet and juicy, like a spoonful of raspberry jam, but the acidity catches up almost at once and brings the fresh, slightly redcurrant-like spring that makes raspberries so refreshing. The berry character is concentrated and clean, without any artificial sweet-shop note. Towards the end there is a faint, pippy astringency, just as in real berries, which gives the shot structure. The spirit lies tucked into the fruit and shows mainly as a pleasant warmth afterwards.

Finish

The finish is fresh and berry-rich, with good length. The tartness cleanses the palate while a soft sweetness of cordial and jam stays on the lips. Last of all comes a small floral note – the raspberry’s signature.

How to Use

The essence is mixed with vodka or neutral spirit, plus sugar. 20 ml makes 750 ml of finished fruit shot. Instructions are on the label.
