PR Agave Schnapps Essence 25 L

Salt on the hand, a small glass, a wedge of lime – the ritual is known in every bar there is, and it calls for a spirit with character. Agave Schnapps is built for precisely that moment. Here the agave is allowed to take up all the room: sweet and roasted, green and herbal, with a peppery heat that meets the salt and the lime exactly as it should.

The essence is supplied in 25 litres and is intended for manufacturers, high-turnover bars and event companies. One drum gives 937.5 litres of finished drink, which is the same as over 1,300 bottles of 700 ml – with the same intense flavour in every single shot.

Colour & Appearance

Once mixed, the schnapps is clear and pale, with good body that shows when the glass is swirled. It looks clean and powerful and is equally at home in a shot glass or in a tumbler over ice.

Nose

The nose is generous and immediate. Roasted agave with a note of baked root vegetables and dark honey meets green herbs – sage, fresh pepper, a little newly cut grass. Black pepper and lime zest prickle the nose in a pleasant way, and at the bottom there is something earthy and mineral.

Palate

The palate is powerful and many-sided. The opening is sweet with cooked agave, but the sweetness is soon joined by a green, herbal bitterness and an earthy note that adds weight. The pepper arrives early and builds through the whole mouthful – first white pepper, then something resembling green chilli. The mouthfeel is full and slightly oily, and there is a saltiness in the background that makes the drink a natural with citrus.

Finish

The finish is long, warm and peppery. Roasted agave, herbs and a last lime-fresh note linger for a long time and cry out for another wedge of lime.

How to Use

The essence is mixed with neutral spirit or vodka. 18.67 ml makes 700 ml of finished drink. Concentrated 37.5 times – 1 ml of essence equals 37.5 ml of finished drink; 25 litres comes to 937.5 litres altogether. Instructions are on the label.

About the Essence

Agave Schnapps belongs to the PR (Prestige) series and is the powerful sibling of PR Agave Vodka. Where the vodka merely hints at agave, the schnapps goes all the way, with more sweetness, more herbs and considerably more pepper. It is the right choice when the flavour has to come through lime, salt, ice and sweet mixers.

For the manufacturer, the high concentration means simple, exact dosing and even results from batch to batch. The option of using the essence in sauces, non-alcoholic drinks and foods as well makes it useful in both bar and kitchen.
