From exotic curiosity it has become one of the most sought-after flavours in modern cocktails – thanks to an aroma so intense you notice it across the room, and a tartness that wakes up everything else in the glass. PR Passion Fruit Vodka Essence in 25 litres gives drinks producers, bar chains and food companies access to that flavour in a form that is simple to measure and always the same.

The drum makes 937.5 litres of finished passion fruit vodka, over 1,300 bottles of 700 ml. The finished drink is no liqueur but a dry, clear fruit vodka, which leaves you completely free to decide the sweetness, colour and strength of the end product yourself.

Colour & Appearance

Once mixed, the vodka is clear and colourless, bright in the glass. The fact that the drink has no colour of its own is an advantage in production: it can be bottled as a sleek clear vodka or coloured to suit your own concept, with nothing that needs hiding.

Nose

The nose is powerful and instantly recognisable. Freshly opened passion fruit with its yellow, jelly-like pulp dominates – tart, tropical and almost perfumed. Around it are notes of mango, guava and grapefruit peel, along with a floral, slightly resinous nuance. It is the kind of aroma that pushes through even in blends with juice, soft drinks and ice.

Palate

The palate is lively and aromatic. Passion fruit’s characteristic tartness shows at once, not as true acidity but as a fresh, thirst-quenching fruit note that makes the mouth water. Then the tropical aroma spreads out – sun-ripened, exotic and a touch floral – over a clean, neutral grain vodka. The drink is dry, so the fruit comes across as sharp and distinct rather than sweet-shop. The intensity is high, so the flavour carries even in long drinks and diluted products.

Finish

The finish is long for a fruit vodka. Passion fruit and a little citrus peel remain with a fresh, tart note that cleanses the palate and leaves a dry, clean close.

How to Use

The essence is blended with neutral spirit or vodka. 18.67 ml makes 700 ml of finished spirit drink. Concentrated 37.5 times – 1 ml of essence equals 37.5 ml of finished spirit drink. 25 litres makes 937.5 litres. Instructions are on the label.
